Nothing earthshattering – just a Friday spent doing the weekly shop, and then watching the tennis whilst crocheting – I have done more crochet at home this week than I have for ages (I don’t know if it is tied to the positive feelings from going to the gym, but it may be). Then today, a lie in, a bit of shopping (B&Q for some plants and weedkiller, and the pet shop, for doggy toothpaste and a couple of toys for the dogs), and then sport watching for the afternoon and evening – Sabine Lisicki vs Marion Bartoli for the Wimbledon Championship (Bartoli won – she is a great character), then the Lions final test, which they won convincingly, with some amazing tries, and finally today’s stage of the Tour – which Chris Froome won, to put him in the yellow jersey!
We had a lovely time watching the dogs with their new toys – we got them a snake (for some reason, made out of leopard print fun fur) with a rope spine, and a squeak in each end, and a pheasant that honks – which Mia loves! In the past, toys with squeaks/honks have freaked her out, but she loves the pheasant and keeps on chewing on him and honking him at the same time – it is so funny to watch.
It is good to have little things to laugh at – and I need to remember that each laugh is a gift, a positive thing, and to enjoy it without looking back to previous dark times or wondering when the next dark time is coming – just live in the moment. That would be a big achievement.
